Fun Stuff

Last weekend we took some random pics of fun things, like a weasel that has made itself at home in the clinic mare barn (they eat mice and rats!!! yah!), a fawn in the ditch, ducks by the clinic, the dogs all sitting together and Todd & Gunner napping in the new hammock.
Yes, it is a weasel! Todd even had to go look it up.

The mom was with it, but ran away and stomped the ground trying to get us to follow her and leave it alone. We took quick pics and left it alone.

The ducks and the dogs

Taking a nap!

My solar lights! I LOVE them!  They change colors.

My Graden

For a good portion of Memorial weekend, I worked on my garden. I have not had a garden for 2 years because of various reasons, but mostly because of weeds. The grass is my biggest enemy. So, I was reading an article on gardening made easy and they suggested a raised bed garden.  Trust me, it wasn't easy to build! But I am hoping that all of my hard work pays off.  Todd helped me with getting together the stakes, hauling the dirt, and filling in the garden with both dirt and compost (got to love the horses!) But I got the wood together (it came from 2 old feed bunks I tore apart), put it together, spread out and mixed the dirt, and planted everything. (And the wire around it is to keep out the dogs; they just can not resist fresh dirt!!!)

Last weeks of school

The girls had concerts and we had some end of the year activities at school. Here are a couple of pictures that I took. Some of them were taken on my phone so they are not all that great.
Tasha had solo contest and received a I rating on her trumpet solo, and the 7/8 band went to Anthon for large group and received a I-. They were both fun to watch and listen to.

The spring concerts were great. Both girls did a nice job.

We went to Haggie park with the 6th grade and had a Conservation Day, and we had a 4-6 grade track and field day.

The last day of school we had an awards day. The picture to the left is Tasha coming back up the isle from getting her awards. (She walked to fast to get one on stage.) And we had some time for games outside.

My favorite student, Colton H., gave me this beautiful bouquet. He is going to be a Freshman next year and I am really going to miss seeing him everyday.  Although I didn't actually get to teach him the past 2 years (I had him in 5th and 6th), he came to my room every week during his study hall and my Prep time and cleaned, helped organize, talked, and hung out.
