Rascal and Sassy????

Yesterday when I was at the clinic, Nancy said something about Sassy and Rascal were in the cage and Smokey Junior was up front. I looked at her so funny and questioned, "What are you talking about, my cats are here?" She started to chuckle and walked over to the cage with me. I had seen RJ (Rascal Junior) before, but there was another cat in the cage and she looked just like Sassy. Had to take pictures!! The pictures are through the cage bars because it was hard to keep them both contained inside with the door open as they both wanted out!!

I've fallin and I might get up???

Todd had a client come in with a large rottweiler named Samson. He was having some problems walking and standing. Todd did some tests and ex-rays and found that he had a ruptured disk in his neck. The owners did not want to take Samson to ISU for the surgery because it was going to be over $6000 and maybe closer to $10,000 by the time they were done. Soooooo.... Todd said he would do the surgery as he has been talking about getting into these kind of surgeries. He gave them no guarantees and they said ok. This is not a picture of Samson, but close to what he looks like. He is a very nice dog.

Yesterday afternoon he started the surgery about 4 and we finished about 7. He had to go in through his neck and clean out the ruptured disk and get down to the spinal cord to re-leave the pressure.  I didn't get there right away, but did get to see the majority of it. It went as planned and Samson made it through the surgery. This morning Todd said he would sit up and eat and drink, but he was in too much pain to stand. That will come with time and healing. I will post more pictures as he progresses.

The Cone of Shame!

For those of you who have seen the movie Up, you'll understand the "Cone of Shame" as much as "SQUIRREL!"  For those of you who have not, the "Cone of Shame" was used for those dogs that were naughty. Well, Rascal had to have surgery  to make him pee like a girl because he kept getting urinary infections and blockages. Because of the surgery, he keeps licking his stitches and causing bleeding. So.......

He has to wear the "Cone of Shame"!!

Crayon Marker????

Aunt Janine and Uncle Pat wanted an idea for Katelyn for Christmas, so I gave them the idea of a Crayola Crayon Maker. However, Janine couldn't seem to find any in the city of Omaha. So, I found one in Carroll and got it to her. When we opened gifts, she admitted that she thought it was a Crayon Marker, and her, Pat, Mom and Dad had looked all over for the Crayon Marker This was why she could not find it.  Here are some pictures of the Crayon MAKER!!!
