Mother's Day

A belated Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mother's out there. I had a nice Mother's Day. I spent it in Wisconsin with my family and I received some very nice gifts. From my hubby!
From my parents
From my in-laws
I think they all did wonderfully well!!!

Wisconsin

We were able to take a couple of days and go as a family to Wisconsin for the weekend. Before the whole clinic change, Todd and I drew turkey tags for one of their spring turkey seasons. We thought we were going to have to just let the tags go to waste this year, but Dr. McDermott was able to come work for a couple of days for Todd. We left Thursday night and got back Sunday night. It was a short trip, but fun! Natasha and Katelyn went along with us, and they had an absolute blast spending time with Dan and Mary's girls, Eli and Sara. Todd got a nice turkey on Saturday; I had a shot at one, but could only see it's head at 50 yards and missed. We did get a great show from two toms Sunday morning for about an hour and a half, but were not able to get one. Dan and Mary have a new beautiful house and were wonderful hosts. We were even able to have a bon fire down along their creek on Saturday and make smores. Thanks Guys!!

At the bon fire
We took some pictures before we left

This is Strawberry Point, Iowa that we went through on the way home. We thought their signs were really neat and the girls really liked the name of the town.

2nd Grade Zoo Trip

Katie's class took a field trip to the Omaha zoo. Mom got to take the day off work and go along as an extra chaprone. Because of the large number of parents that went, we only had to have two extra young ladies with us. It made for a very nice day for Katie and Mom.

A Sad Ending - A Work In Progress

Last summer I wrote that we lost part of our big evergreen tree in-front of our house.
This last spring we lost another big branch out of it and it almost took out the overhead power lines. We decided it was time for it to go. :( The city crews (we get our electricity from the city of Lake View) came out and took down the branches that were near the lines and then Todd and the girls cut down the rest. They left the trunk and the main branches because we are going to have a chainsaw artists come out and do a chainsaw sculpture with it. I will put another post up when it is done.
