On Wednesday, 550 East Sac County 5th - 12th grade students and staff joined students from Ridge View (formerly Crestland-Schaller and Gavla-Holstein), Sac County workers, and other volunteers to clean up 4800 acres of land near the Nemaha area that had been hit by the tornado on Saturday evening while we were turkey hunting over by Oto (see here). There were a total of over 1300 volunteers that included those with tractors, trucks, or wagons, those who made food and brought it to the workers, those that cooked lunch and served it to us, and those of us who walked the fields cleaning up debris. Tasha and I both helped in the clean up, but we were separated, so I didn't get any pictures of her and her group. Though I do believe that she is WAY in the back of the last photo because almost all of the East Sac students were helping with the last field. There are some great photos of the day here on Facebook that a gal from the area took.

It's great that so many of you came together to help out people around the county!
Fantastic! I love that the students were out helping as well. What great community spirit. Thanks for explaining who the school are now & were formerly. I can't keep up. :-)
